Turtle Cove Golf Complex

This is the other outdoor batting cage which is located in the Bronx, (not far from the Bronx Golf Center; the other outdoor batting cage).

Ralph and I are going to the batting cages on Friday 4/11 to work on our swing. Perhaps we will check out this batting cage out and report back to guys with our impressions of it.

Why Flushing?

Alex answered the question perfectly. Yes it will probably be crowded in Juniper, but we will check. But in In Flushing we can have a more private practice and not worry about hitting people in the head.

Spring Break Batting Practice

I can't go a week without some practice. Can you? Well, tomorrow morning I'm heading out to the batting cages. The Bronx Golf Center has automatic softball cages that are outdoors. Unlike the Astoria Batting Cages, batters are able to see how far their hits go. I'm planning on going in the late morning. If you are interested call Steve, he is also going.

that slide was freaking halarious. Guys the first week of April, we will be collecting $45 for the uniform. So giving everybody a heads up. Another thing, last week practice was good. Everybody played alot better and is getting better. Like Serge said, "Practice makes Perfect" See everybody Sunday.

There were a few more practices held on monday and tuesday. Ralph, Steve, and Srj , practiced at juniper park and it was very good. The field was in good condition the ground absorbed the rain very well and there was very little water. The team is looking very good and I do see us making playoffs. As long as we practice there will be no stopping us.

I had a lot of fun yesterday. Even though the field was muddy I had a great time. I haven't played ball in almost two decades, as most of you could tell, and now I can't wait until next week's practice. I'm hooked!

It looks like we have a good base to work with. With enough practice we can make every team in this league look bad. Let's get that Trophy!!!

Dudes,

I just got my new glove. I haven't had a glove since I was a kid. If you haven't gotten yours yet, get on it. It has really made me excited about the season. I couldn't put it down all night. I moisturized it and have been playing with it since I got it (no homo).

I was considering getting one online but at Steve's suggestion I went to Sports Authority, which has a fair selection. I tried on every one they had. As soon as I put mine on I new that it was the one for me. I know it sounds like a love affair and I hope it becomes one on the field. I want that trophy and we are going to do all we can to get it.

Field practice will be held on March 2, 2008 (sunday) and March 9, 2008 (sunday) both practices will be in flushing meadow park and will start at 3 pm.

1) must give a 72 hour notice if we cannot make a game. Basically notify by Wednesday every week if you will play. If we DO NOT give 72 hour notice we will be FINED $125.00 each time.

2) Try to bring Identification that has your date of birth on it to the games.

Welcome to Inside the Park. This is our team blog.

Since we all live in different areas, I've created this blog so that the team can have a forum to post notices, discuss issues, make decisions, respond to teammates concerns and most importantly to fuck around. Only we can post or view this blog.

We can use this to post rules, game pictures and videos. We might also have a discussion and a vote on our elusive team name.

The idea is to avoid e-mails and phone calls. This is our one central place for team info. Anything, any of you have to say or ask about the team, write a post such as this one. You can also respond to a post someone has written by clicking on the comment link at the bottom of each post.
